Lacrosse Australia has recently confirmed its updated Men’s and Women’s Sixes squads for 2026, continuing its strong momentum as the programs build towards LA28 and beyond.
Each squad will now comprise 30 athletes, including 18 National Squad athletes and 12 National Development Squad athletes, a structure designed to both maximise high-performance outcomes and optimise support for Lacrosse Australia athletes.
East Fremantle State League players Thomas Richards and Ryan Hockey have been named in the National Squad and the National Development Squad respectively.
Both Ryan and Thomas traveled to Oshawa, Ontario in October for the World Lacrosse Super Sixes tournament, where the Australian Men's Team finished in 4th place following a heart breaking 1 goal loss in the bronze match up.

Lacrosse Australia Head of High Performance Ben Bishop, said that the updated squad structure reflected both the strength of Australia’s current Sixes programs and a clear focus on future growth.
“With Sixes firmly established on the Olympic pathway, this squad structure allows us to continue raising high performance standards and accelerate development while building continuity and depth towards LA28 and beyond,” said Bishop.
“There is genuine excitement around our high performance programs, and the progress we’re seeing reflects the work being done across athletes, coaches and staff.”
The updated Men’s and Women’s Sixes squads will underpin Lacrosse Australia’s preparation throughout 2026, with athletes to be engaged in ongoing training environments, national camps and international opportunities as the Olympic cycle progresses.

We are extremley proud of the dedication and commitment both Ryan and Thomas have showed towards pursuing their goals. The whole of the club is supporting our athletes!
